I’ve been trying Rhino 9 for a couple of days, and I noticed that when using the linear dimension tool in an orthogonal view, it sometimes picks start/end points at different depths along the view axis, causing it to fail because it’s considered an invalid 3D measurement.
In Rhino 7, measuring in an orthogonal view always worked smoothly—presumably because the points were automatically projected onto the same plane. I know that turning on the Osnap Project toggle fixes this, but I don’t want to have to manually turn it on every single time.
Is there a global setting or preference to make all measurements in orthogonal views automatically project onto the active plane, restoring the legacy behavior?
