Assign texture-The parameter is incorrect?


I am trying to make a custom material assignment to a solid box and get a ‘parameter incorrect’ message. How do you assign a texture when creating a new material. This is in Rhino V5. I don’t have an issue in Rhino V4.

Here’s a video on how materials work in Rhino 5 that might help
The active render engine controls what material editor you should use and also what material attributes you’d see in the viewport. In general though, a texture map is assigned within a material definition for the active renderer. This could be a texture for color, bump or transparency for instance. The way the texture get’s applied to the object is a matter of ‘texture mapping’ which is an object property separate from the material definition.
