Application Error (0xc0150002) on Startup

I just downloaded the 64-bit evaluation version, and after multiple re-installs and ensuring that my Visual C++ package is up to date, I still get this error when trying to start the program:

“The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application.”

And that’s as far as I get.

Any advice? Let me know if there’s more information that I should provide. Thanks!

Hi Jellowl, Did you get some help with this?

Thanks,

Hi:
That’s not an error message I’ve ever seen or heard of before.
I’m also confused about you downloading a 64-bit version of Rhino.
The Rhino V5 installer package install both 32 and 64 bit Rhino.
There is no 64-bit only download available for Rhino V5 anywhere.

Can you please repeat the error and take a screenshot of it, and return the image in a reply either here or to tech@mcneel.com?
Thanks

I see this is a very old message from October 2013.
If this is old news and long since resolved, then please just forget it.

Thanks
