. . . and one(maybe2) steps back

So in V8 8.4 I finally got my MMB to run the popup. It looked great - even a bit better than the V7 display. Then I downloaded a SRC version and now the pop up looks like fudge in both V8 versions.

Example of well presented popup:

Now after the SRC installation:"

Why must these little details continue to annoy and distract? Is the application structure so fragile that anything makes everything thing else marginal?

Oh - and also, the key combos I set up are all gone. Sunnahavbitch!

What a marvelous time is to be had with the new improved Rhino!

Can it ever get any better???

One might suspect there’s a bunch of jackasses writing code these days. How difficult is it to up version an app and not wipe out the user preferences?

This particular area has always been a 2nd rate aspect of the application - the user preferences - the absurdly complicated means of setting them up and the ease with which all the work can be lost. The developers are causing pain and wasted time because they’ve lost focus on the most important and basic imperatives - ease of use and upgrading. All the clever bells and whistles don’t mean a thing if the application they’re in is shit to use.

Sound angry? Yeah, I am. I open a project to continue work and I’ve to yet again reset every last fucking pref before I can begin. What’s my time worth?? How about your time - what’s it worth? How many times over would you like to do the same thing to get back to where you were???

Hi JKayten,

All these changes in Rhino 8 are about potentially adding value to Rhino users, losing preferences on an upgrade is a step back in the direction. Can you provide your systemInfo? there may be MacOs considerations.

Do you happen to know the previous version you were on? Trying to gather as much info as possible for the youtrack (RH-80881). Thanks

Here ya go
