All Vray materials lost and converted to Rhino Materials

Hi,

I have experienced so many times over the past year, that all my V-ray materials is lost and turned into rhino materials out of the blue.

I can save a project file with lots of v-ray materials and everything works as usual - then I save the file, close Rhino and the next day at work I open the file and all the V-ray materials are converted into Rhino custom materials when I open the file. This is such an annoying bug/issue and it forces me to go back through auto-saves, lose precious drawing hours and find an older file where the v-ray materials are kept intact.

I know the “Convert Rhino Material”, but when working on a massive project with a hundred materials, this is not the option.

What am I doing wrong? I sometimes work from home through a VPN, but texture-files are kept local and not on a network drive.

System info reports on your computer and the Rhino that is running on it. As far as I know it reports nothing that has to do with the rhino file that you are running.

So for the same computer and the same version of Rhino there shouldn’t be any difference between the system info reports.

Hello, @Jacob_Thuesen.

There are similar discussions and we are trying to catch this one.
Please next time when you meet this issue:

check for back-up files C:\Users\ [YOUR USERNAME] \AppData\Local\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0\AutoSave
Initially the time for saving them is set to 20 minutes, but could be changed

send all available neui log files to our contact form
They could be found from the About window, see here or from C:\Users\ [YOUR USERNAME] \AppData\Roaming\Chaos Group\V-Ray for Rhinoceros\vrayneui

You could mention me directly into the description.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I´m experiencing the same problem. Was there a solution?
I use Rhino 6 and Vray 6 up to date.

Thank you
