Hi everyone, happy Tuesday!
I’ve been trying to figure this out but am having a hard time. I’m trying to create the braids as highlighted and place them on one of the extruded circles, but I’m struggling with it. Do you have any recommendations on how I can achieve this?
I am still a much of a beginner in Grasshopper, so couldn’t quite get it to work…the braids aren’t touching each other properly due to the bounding box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have assumed a something different from the description of “braid”, but the OP seems happy with it.
Thank you. I have tried using “Flow Along Surface,” but it either leaves a gap or extends over the surface, preventing a clean, flush result. I feel like there must be a way to achieve this, but I’m unsure whether it can be done manually or if it requires Grasshopper (GH). Here is a photo attached if anyone can graciously drop a hint of knowledge…
Provide us with your .gh file.

Thank you so much for extending your hand to help…I’ve attached the Rhino and Grasshopper here as a reference…
Are you expecting a volume or simple 2D tiling in a circle?
If it’s too difficult maybe a simple 2D tiling around the circle. Once I have it in place, I believe I can offset the surface to give it a 1/4” thickness. Hoping they would all flush in place. FlowAlongSurface worked great since I already had the surface with a 1/4" thickness, but the problem was it kept leaving a gap or extending over as the photo shown above.
I can do both. I’ll start with 2D

Here is the first.
Thank you. I’m truly touched by your selflessness
It’s given me an error message is this something I have to address before opening up the file?
That is a missing reverse surface component. You can skip it and put the output of SRF directly into Map Srf
Amazing…incredible. Thank you so much! I’ll be waiting for volume one.

Here is a basic idea. You might want to check Martin’s link for something better.

Thank you all. I really appreciate your help Volker I’ll study this, and hopefully, I can give back to the forum community sooner or later
This might be better for you, but I am not sure about the math involved to get the correct radius so that the twist is just touching and not intersecting.

It’s also very heavy because of the transformations, so don’t jank around on the sliders like crazy, or disable the Flow component before you do.
