Adjusting Lineweights of Polysurfaces in Technical Display mode

I’m struggling to get the technical display mode to print properly. I’ve tried adjusting the display mode properties settings. I’ve tried setting all the line thickness settings for printing (and display) to “hairline” in the layers tab. No luck. When I turn on the Printdisplay command it doesn’t show the thick line representation for the technical display mode which I find additionally puzzling. I’m attaching a copy of the file, a marked-up pdf illustrating the issue, and a physical shot of the printed sheet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike -

In Rhino 7, viewports in the technical display mode will always be printed as raster and there is very little that can be done to configure the outcome. The print width settings for layers or objects do not apply to the technical display and you can’t go lower than 1 px for the edge line width. The only thing that you could try is increasing the dpi setting in the Print dialog.

If you need more control over line widths, you’ll have to use Make2d and either put the result on the layout or show it in a detail on that layout.

Thank you for breaking it down. I was burning a not of unnecessary brain cells. That sounds so wrong. Hopefully it gets the point across.

how about R8? i dont see a way to control technical display print widths either (in display mode there is px line settings but it is not sufficient)

Hi Ivan -

Only the hidden lines can be controlled at this point. They use the Hidden linetype definition.
