Hello. I’ve been learning Visualarq for a while. I have 3 questions:
How do I add a skirting board to the facade and interior spaces? I tried adding a second exterior finish layer in the style of the wall, which I set a top offset value. However, the windows shouldn’t follow this layer when inserted, but the facade finish layer. Is there a way to do this?
Staircase: I’d like to make a U-shaped staircase with a rectangular landing, aligning the steps along the same line at the landing. Even though the two flights have the same number of steps, the resulting landing is still L-shaped, not rectangular. Is there a way to do this?
What’s the fastest way to copy the reference levels to a new file, if I only need to copy some objects from the original one?
Right now it is not possible to make a wall layer stop at a window or door frame. That’s something planned for future versions. As a workaround you can keep using the layer offsets, and try to make that wall layer don’t wrap at openings. Then you can draw the remaining layer segment with a solid that you can group with the door/window (so it’s easier to move all together), or add it to the wall with the vaAddSolids command. (The solid added won’t follow the opening position, so you will need to move it manually with the central control point).
That’s something not possible right now either. You can try to adjust the control points of the stair to get closer to the desired result, but by design, VisualARQ stairs will always add a new step rather than aligning both steps of the landing.
Levels and objects can be copied from one document to another in different ways. The objects you copy don’t contain any information of the level where they are located. So they are just copy-pasted in the elevation where they are.
In the case of levels, there isn’t a straight forward way to do it. But you can use a couple of Grasshopper Scripts for that. You can find them at the end of this post: VA3 - Request for export/import Levels - #3 by fsalla

This is a significant limitation in the staircase design. Our staircases always feature a rectangular landing, which allows for one additional riser within the same footprint.
I know. I add your vote for this feature as well. As a workaround you can create the stair flights with two individual stairs, and a slab for the landing.
