Visualarq was Working very well and even better after 2.11 version but yesterday after new fresh windows it became very laggy and unbearable ,especially in some commands like wall from curve
and also in some cases i get artifacts and strange results from wall from curves like this one here, it was an simple curve and I got this wall with shade >> amazing !!

According tou your message, you have just upgraded Windows. Is that correct? Are you using the same hardware as before?
It seems you’ve installed Windows 20H2 which is not the latest version, which is 21H1. Also, your drivers for the Intel integrated GPU are not the latest ones, and as your laptop has a dual GPU configuration, I recommend you to update the intel drivers too, because I think the laptop display and external ports are physically connected to the Intel GPU.
Can you tell me which is your laptop’s CPU? Is it an AMD? I’m asking this because VisualARQ 2.10 had problems with some AMD CPUs. In that case, make sure you have installed the latest VisualARQ 2.11 version. I’m sure you did, but just check it using the vaAbout command.
If the problem persist, can you please try to start a new document from a VisualARQ template, and change all viewports to “Wireframe”. If this helps, then the problem is related to the VisualARQ display modes…
I’m using the same hardware and my processor is Intel(R) Core™ i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.60 GHz
Yes, external Monitor connect to Intel Gpu as I couldn’t change it from this pretty old configuration
I’ll get a new one soon but I have to work with Laptop till the last month
And my window version is last one that my that appears each time I try to update windows
The problem doesn’t caused by visualarq display modes, It appears when opening each from VA temples , I can deal with and add VA styles manually but how can I work with GH without VA temple
Do you have any Grasshopper add-on installed? Please, try to disable “Grasshopper” in the plug-in manager and then restart Rhino. Does the issue persist?
The last version of Windows is 21H1 (10.0.19043). You can upgrade using the Windows Update Assistant.
mm I updated my windows to the his link … but VA didn’t get any different performance , I thought that the GH components of VA are related to VA templates as I usually use templates… and the question here is there’s a Real difference from using the templates and using rhino templates excepting VA styles ?
There shouldn’t be any difference between using a VisualARQ template or a Rhino template. The only factors that may affect performance are the display model, number of visible viewports, enabled sections, number of objects in the model, etc.
Wow. This is very strange. I’ll check if there is any difference between those templates, but I think I’ll need to schedule a meeting with you to remotely connect to your computer to perform some tests.
I noticed that the lag affects the whole system ex. while playing video and working with VA the video stops or the audio delays @enric okey dokey we can prepare a fast zoom meeting to check it by ur self
I’m controlling my windows updates and I’m sure that I’m updating my OS when I decide to and I’m also sure that this lag not because of windows updates as it’s always exist after this fresh windows
I’ve been trying to reproduce the lag. My first assumption is that, for some reason, meshes and mesh silhouettes are slow to compute on your computer.
Can you please try to reproduce the lag with all viewports set to “Wireframe”?
I think this might be related that the default wall style in metric templates has 6 layers, while the default style in imperial templates only has 3 layers. When you use a non-VisualARQ template, a 3-layer wall style is automatically created. I think that the lag exists in both cases, but with metric templates, it is 2 times slower than with imperial or Rhino templates.
Can you please try to reproduce the lag using the “VisualARQ 2 - Meters” but changing the style used to the “Generic 300mm” style?
you’re right , the lag exists in each mode but in metric it’s more obvious.
the problem also is the VA makes artifacts in the objects or while connecting walls together , it happens a lot after this windows !!
So I think it’s my OS problem but do u recommend any modification for Rhino settings or tweaks to make VA performe better
No thanks , It doesn’t matter any more, I uninstalled it and Trying to work with Geometry gym and Revit , I have multi purpose residential projects this summer semester and I couldn’t Bear the lag that happens to the whole laptop during using it
