Hey guys
I installed this version this morning, and my scripts using IronPython are not working. The whole Grasshopper is also affected cuz we have some of those scripts loading automatically on start.
Claude’s conclusions:
**Errors on startup / when launching EditPythonScript or Grasshopper:** ``` Message: Type doesn’t have a method with a given name and signature. (Parameter ‘type’) Traceback: line 18, in , “%APPDATA%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\Plug-ins\IronPython (814d908a-e25c-493d-97e9-ee3861957f49)\settings\lib\scriptcontext.py” line 1, in , “” ``` followed by *“Failed loading the scriptcontext module. Please restore installation paths and try again.”* When opening Grasshopper, a .ghpy library fails with the same exception while importing `os` → `ntpath` → `warnings.py` (line 303), and Grasshopper doesn’t open.
**Observations:** - Line 18 of `scriptcontext.py` is just `class __Py2StickyWrapper(dict):`. So it looks like IronPython can’t create *any* new class at runtime (a type-generation/Reflection.Emit failure), not a problem with a particular script. - The IronPython `settings\lib` folder was regenerated by the update itself (timestamps match the install), so stale user files don’t seem to be the cause. - **NETCore** (default): the errors above. - **NETFramework** (via `SetDotNetRuntime`): Rhino crashes when opening Grasshopper. - Safe mode (`/safemode`): [result of the test] **System:** - Windows [version], Quadro RTX 4000 - Third-party plug-ins: Enscape, V-Ray, Speckle (Rhino 8 connector), Wheat (runs an IronPython startup script), RhMcp, ladybug_tools (in the IronPython search path) - Grasshopper libraries: Docofossor (.ghpy), Heliotrope, TreeSloth, TT Toolbox
