8.28.26041.11001 Rhino 8 crashes at startup, need link to older version

Hi all, I recently installed the latest Rhino 8 build released on 10th February. The installation completed successfully, but Rhino crashes during startup. It opens the template window and begins loading plug-ins, then closes midway without a specific error message. Safe Mode works, but normal mode consistently crashes.

I have already checked system dependencies (Visual C++ and WebView2) and performed a reset, but the issue persists.

Could you please share the link to download a previous stable Rhino 8 version so I can test if this is related to the latest build?

I am currently using Rhino 8 version 8.28.26041.11001. The installation completes successfully, but Rhino crashes during startup. It opens the template selection window and begins loading plug-ins, however it closes midway during the loading process without showing a specific error message.
please send me the link to an earlier version of rhino

Hi Lucia -

Does Rhino start in safe mode?
[Windows start menu, type in ‘Rhinoceros’ and look for the ‘Rhinoceros in Safe Mode’ entry]

When Rhino crashes, does the Rhino crash reporter pop up? If it does, please always send in that report.

Have you tried to repair the Rhino installation from the Windows Control Panel?

i dont get any crash reporter pop up, yes i tried repair - no use

safe mode yes, i can access

but still the pop up comes

Hi -

Which pop up?

When you start in safe mode, please use the PlugInManager command (allow that to load), and from the drop-down, filter to “Plug-ins that do not ship with Rhino”.
Is anything listed there? If so, remove the check mark for everything that appears in that filtered list and restart Rhino.
Does that change things?

EDIT: I’ve now merged your threads. Please don’t double-post.

the content in the pop up is:
Rhino 8 Safe Mode Plug-In Load

Rhino was started in Safe Mode and is being asked to automatically load this plug-in.

File:
C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\Plug-ins\RhinoScript.rhp

Sometimes bugs in plug-ins can break Rhino. Do you want to load this plug-in?

Click “Yes” to load the plug-in

Buttons:
Yes no

;There is no options under the filter to “Plug-ins that do not ship with Rhino”.

Hi Lucia -

Thanks. I’m sending you a link to 8.27.
