Hi Everyone,
I’ve been using Rhino for a few years now (stopped at Rhino 6, but soon will update to Rhino 7). I started to have problems recently when models gotbigger than ~120/150MB. Rhino does not rotate smoothly in haded view and splitting many objects at the same time or using Make2D takes a loooot of time or sometimes even cause Rhino to crash - Rhino stays on, but do not respond.
Just for reference, here is my laptop configuration:
Windows 10 x64, Rhino 6
Intel(R) Core™ i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.40 GHz
RAM 8 GB
AMD Radeon R9 M200X (2 GB)
I do only 3d modelling now in bare Rhino – but I’d like to have a computer that I can use for Grasshopper / Orca / rendering as well (probably will have to start rendering in the nearest future).
I’ve decided to go for a workstation as for taking the 3d model out with me I can still use my current laptop. I’ve seen the Rhino requirements (Rhino - System Requirements), but they seem to be a minimal requirements. Basing on those two topics:
I am thinking about such configuration:
Windows 10 x64, Rhino 7
Intel(R) Core™ i5-10600k CPU @ 4.1GHz 4.8GHz
RTX 20xx/30xx
RAM 32GB DDR4 (2x16)
SSD 1GB M.2 - for system, Rhino and projects
What do you thinks about that (also in case of rendering in the future)?
Thanks everyone!
Mikolaj
