Wood grain texture

I an a new Rhino user so forgive me if this is too basic a question. I am a hobbyist and I 3d print parts for models with my Form2 SLA printer.I want to make a wooden box with wood grain texture. From what I have read the textures that you can use in Rhino 6 only apply to rendering and wont actually form part of the surface for 3d printing. So if I apply a wood texture with texture mapping and then export the file as an .stl for printing the surface will be smooth. Is there any way to apply surface texture and have it become part of the surface for printing?
