Hi,
When exporting curve geometries to a SVG, object name and layer affiliation data from Rhino is totally lost. This makes it very tedious to work with exported curve geometries in other vector programs, since you first have to go through and rename and/or re-organize everything into layers, before being able to do what you intended to in the first place. This quickly becomes impossible, when your dealing with hundreds or thousands of curves.
For instance, in Inkscape each and every exported Geometry turns up as generic “path”, in Affinity Designer as “curve”.
Since the concept of layers is not really specified for SVGs in general, I would propose to use specially labelled SVG groups, like Inkscape does instead.
Furthermore, it would be helpful if the SVG Exporter could keep the order in which the geometries where created in Rhino, instead of seemingly randomizing it. For certain tasks (pen plotting, laser cutting, etc.) order can be important and again hard to restore manually.
Regards.
