Wish: round cap linetype for hatch

Hi Wim,

I’m sorry, I couldn’t answer right away.

→ HATCH CAPS

I see, we may have misunderstood each other. It seems to be a PrintDisplay issue then, no? I can change the title. As you mentioned, if we print a vector PDF, the hatch caps are rounded, which is great! The problem is then why PrintDisplay doesn’t display the same thing?

(It’s maybe not relevant here but by the way, I still don’t understand this. →

Do you only have PrintDisplay activated on the border? How do you get that bold line without PrintDisplay on? For me both are bold and correspond to the PrintWidth of the layer with PrintDisplay on → )

→ HATCH DOTS
Regarding the dots:

They are in this file with de differences explained:

You will see a hatch named DotsFromPoints
this kind of hatch can be made either with the @ralph1 HatchMaker or PattyCake
Dotsfrompoints.pat (25.5 KB)

And a Hatch named Dotsfromshortline
Dotsfromshortline.pat (75.0 KB)

They look completely different in Rhino :

DOTHATCH2.3dm (3.6 MB)

DotsFromPoints is making nice dots with PrintDisplay on. But have this problem when printing.
Dotsfromshortline is making lines impossible to see with PrintDisplay on. It cannot be used. The lines become larger as the print width is varied. Nothing is displayed. Impossible to print.

Once exploded it’s another story. DotsFromPoints disappear. Dotsfromshortline seems ok, it’s lines that are fitting the PrintWitdth.

I hope to be clear and that coherent solutions can be found.

Best,
Pip
