WISH CurveBoolean & Extrude History enabled

WISH CurveBoolean & Extrude History enabled / automatic inside region detection.

For extrusions it would be amazing if Rhino could automatically detect inside regions of drawings and update changes automatically (history enabled).

I wish everyone a good start to the new year.

It does if you left click anywhere outside the figure.

Does not do that yet - might be a cool addition.

Thanks for the reply,
I tried using ExtrudeCrv, but couldn’t get it to work and don’t understand how the interaction is supposed to work.

I was referring to CurveBoolean, not Extrude.

Hi UAS -

I’ve put that feature request on the heap as RH-91327 CurveBoolean: Support History

Hi Wim,

Thank you for the YouTrack.
as a addition to illustrate the topic of how “CurveBoolean” can be automatically detected and used for extrusion, here is another example from different software.

I would like to emphasise how important this functionality would be for Rhino.

The CurveBoolean operation eliminates the need for join, explode, trim, etc., so that the history is not constantly disrupted.

many thanks

It may be helpuful to say that this feature could work integrating into the Push/Pull component.
In fact P/P is already doing it with curves on surface but not when they’re alone in the plane.
This would speed up extruding things a lot also for Architects

I agree that it could work well with Push&Pull. I also assume that Rhino already has almost all the functionality it would need for this. However, I think you have much more control over the design if you can work with your own drawings, lines and curves from the start.
