Why cannot select by clicking object

Hi Help me please, i am on urgent for my collage project

I have same old issue with selecting objects simply using my cursor to click on them: it works when window-selecting but not to directly click on them. Ive checked the selection filter and I have no locked layers. reading all old post about it, i dont know It appears randomly, i just wanted to finish my project

@nato pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results.

Is this project specific? Do you have a large (clipped) object in that file?

thank you for reaching out and trying to help me @Gijs
To answer your questions: Yes, it seems to be specific to this project. And yes, I do have a lot of assets in that file, and they are all modeled at a 1:1 real-world scale.

btw after 2 hours i actually managed to find a solution for this issue. I am sharing it here in case anyone else encounters the exact same problem in the future:

  1. Instead of a single click problem, just use Window Selection (click and drag) to select all the objects in the problematic file.

  2. Export Selected and save the selected geometry as a completely new rhinofile

  3. Open the newly created file.

from what i remember It seems the issue was because i somehow change view many times with ctrl + shift shortcut and click something, but i dont know what is it i just close project so cannot sure in history

that shouldn’t matter, but if it is a view that has gone out of wack, it could be an object far away from your working objects (Test with Zoom Extents (ZE) , or the camera itself. If it the latter, Zoom to Target (ZT) can help.

Additionally, to clear issues with viewports, you can run the 4View command twice in a row.
