Sorry for the the question that sounds like it belongs on Reddit but I have a little animation to knock out asap(simple, just a bunch of rotations really) and haven’t used Bongo in ages. Should I actually be using the WIP? With 8? I might not have used it since V6…
Jim,
I guess you better use Bongo 2.0. It works perfectly together with Rhino 8.
The WIP still has many loose ends.

I share a related curiosity: Is there a list somewhere of things that are working in Bongo WIP that aren’t in Bongo 2.0 and things in the WIP that 2.0 has but aren’t working as they should in WIP?
There are no such lists per se. Development is based on the project management system “YouTrack”.
Basically new things in the WIP are mainly the ‘Connections’ and ‘Physics’. Both features are in fact operational, but the framing interface still needs to be improved and expanded. The (temporary) lack of any documentation also means that it is not easy to understand the use of the various parameters - especially for Physics.
Naturally, it is the intention that all functionalities of 2.0 are retained in the WIP. That is - as far as we know - also the case. But also here work has to be done on the ‘User Interface’, e.g. the Objects’ Properties Manager. It is therefore possible that at the moment users get somewhat lost because the good old familiar environment is being tinkered with. Also some managers like the Render Animation dialog and the new KeyframeTable aren’t yet fully operational in the current version.
