ZBrush has successfully logged into the iPad. When will the complete Rhino be officially modeled on the iPad?
Hi Martin -
What features are you missing in iRhino?
Note that iRhino is basically Rhino running on an iPad / iPhone.

I hope to have a complete version of Rhino, a familiar page on iPad, and the ability to model on iPad like the desktop version. Nomad has achieved this, Shapr3D has achieved it, and ZBrush has achieved it, which greatly confirms the usability of iPad. Currently, the modeling efficiency completed on iPad is much higher than that completed on PC. I hope Rhino can do the same thing on iPad as on PC, this is my demand and also my hope
To be honest, the current version is available on the iPad, and I just feel that it is a viewing software that provides convenience for people who don’t understand
Our initial goal with iRhino is to have a powerful viewer. But we’re working on bringing modeling capabilities to iRhino.
I encourage you to join our Testflight team to get access to the WIP build with modeling capabilities.
I have been following the iPad for many years, but I did not expect that instead of fundamentally modeling oriented research, I would focus on keeping up with the latest simple applications such as AR, viewing, and simple annotations. This deviates from the actual time wasted on developing the iPad version for the full version
What do you feel is missing from iRhino WIP for you to be able to do basic modeling?
This is not a discussion about which features to use on the current application, but about whether you are considering bringing the full desktop version of Rhino to the iPad. Convenient mobile modeling is the future trend and an inevitable trend. In the PC era, it’s already very old, and I don’t want to spend a day modeling on my computer desk or laptop. That’s also why I posted an appeal for it
Hi Martin -
Which version of iRhino are you currently using?

That’s obviously not happening anytime soon. No one even cares about tablets anymore as a product, have you not noticed that? My elderly father has an old one to check his email, that’s who uses them. And there is no advantage in trying to 3D model on a tiny screen with no keyboard. The only use would be as a touchscreen accessory to your desktop for the handful of operations where that would possibly be helpful.
Maybe sometime in a decade or so when folding phones are commonplace…well then you’ll just Parsec in to your desktop.
The aging mindset is destined to last longer and longer, just like how after Nomad appeared on iPad, why did ZBrush appear later? Think about it. The times have changed. Embrace the thinking of young people and do not cling to outdated ideas to protect the achievements of the past decade or so. Hope tomorrow
What? Because why would anyone protect their achievements when continual change is so awesome? This is Zoomer rubbish! Change for the sake of change is as poor a mindset as tradition for the sake of tradition. Neither is a great attitude. We Gen X will protect our achievements.
What are you blabbering about? The time of the iPad is already passed!
I doubt there’s enough of a market to even justify the existence of the Mac version, so no obviously there will never be an iPad version.
I think 30% (and growing) of the total Rhino userbase is Mac.
Absolutely not.
Are you representing developers? Don’t use your old and outdated mindset to express this.
The compatibility of application software represents a company’s ability to activate market value through withdrawals, rather than relying on the proliferation of old PC piracy to develop and grow its old circle of withdrawals.
You’re the one with the outdated 00’s mindset thinking complex desktop software on tablets is going to be a big deal. Sorry, NOBODY CARES, try again in 20 years.
No? So what is the truth then? At least 25% I guess;
Wise men see wisdom, fools see foolishness. Once there is a new replacement, we will break all the old ways and there is no need to waste time with you
@JimCarruthers … I have to say that I don’t agree with you. I enjoy trying out modelling on the iPad and being able to use a pencil for sketching and modelling - not for every task (yet), but hopefully in a near future. I’m personally really looking forward to having a finished and more mature version of iRhino.
Only my humble opinion, of course…
