I am looking to learn more Grasshopper to get into computational/parametric design. What is the pay like for everyone in the field? UK or in Asia?
If you are an Architect at least in the UK you’ll be paid according to RIBA bands and your qualifications which removes your ability to navigate much in the way of salary in my experience. Your qualifications also won’t transfer outside of the UK as well after Brexit.
Computational Designers have a lot more flexibility depending on what you can do. If you can help generate stadiums efficiently or make un-doable projects doable when it comes to manufacturing, logistics etc. you have much higher potential, and a nice bonus is its very transferable as a job.
(As always, YMMV and others will definitely have different experiences than me)

Thanks Callum
I guess its more of being able to find the opportunity to use these in a job role. The most I have done using grasshopper in my job is finding the volume of a topography for cut and fill!
Yeah absolutely, automating boring tasks is also a good avenue you can do at most companies which gets you more experienced at breaking down problems.
