What happened to the ability to edit text in the properties text panel?

Just downloaded the latest version- 5A783w
Is there another way to change text?

I too am having this problem. It used to be that the text showed up in an input window in the properties panel to be edited. Now no way to edit text in place. Any suggestions?

It was broken a couple releases ago.
The new build: 5A794w fixes it.
