What happened to SaveAs?

I’ve been using Rhino for Mac for about eight months and after updating to the latest version have noticed the conspicuous absence of the SaveAs command. Am I missing something here? Duplicate is annoying. I don’t want a second window to pop up.

if you push the option key while in the file menu, duplicate will change to Save As.
(this is an osx thing and not necessarily rhino… i imagine rhino could ditch versions etc and keep last decade’s standards but personally, i’d rather it didn’t)

rhino has been this way for quite some time (a lot longer than 8 months)… Save As will be there if you’re working on a new, unsaved or ‘untitled’ file.

That’s a great trick, thanks! I usually type my commands though, any tips for that?

there are the commands SaveAs and -SaveAs but for me, they don’t work.
i’ve read of other people saying the commands work for them but i haven’t investigated further.

Typing the command stopped working for me, that’s how I noticed it was gone. It had been fine until last week. Thought it was a bug so I updated the version and it’s still gone.

oh, the command isn’t even being recognized for you? like “unknown or unimplemented command” pops up?

for me, it all seems to work fine except no new file is created.

No, same issue as you. No new file is created. It accepts the command, dialog box pops up, but it doesn’t save a file.

hey @dan (since i see you’re online right now  )
is _SaveAs or _-SaveAs working for you on mac?

SaveAs and _SaveAs are doing nothing. So that’s broken and needs fixing (logged in MR-1090). The dashed versions are working, but they require a complete path to work correctly…so, for me at least, feeding the argument /Users/dan/Desktop/foo.3dm works, but that’s a bit funky IMHO (that’s already been logged by Marlin as MR-1009: -SaveAs Needs work)
