Vray for Rhino using Parallels on MAC

I am considering buying a macbook pro. Will I be able to use Vray for Rhino in Windows 10 with parallels ?
Will this have an effect on the speed while rendering?

Spec on mac:

  • 3,1 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-processor (7. generation), Turbo Boost up to 4,1 GHz
  • 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3-memory
  • SSD-storage på 512 GB
  • Radeon Pro 560 med 4 GB memory
  • Fire Thunderbolt 3-porte

Thanks!

Yes, the specs are sufficient to run Vray, but you won’t be able to render extremely huge files, so it is dependant on your use: the amount of RAM available in the MacBook Pros are just not enough for extremely heavy files (e.g. detailed aerial urban images with lots of 3D vegetation). I am using a similar MBP (weaker i7, 2GB of VRAM), it is fine for occasional architectural visualisation - or a similarly sized task, but I recommend to have a beefy desktop instead to do the heavy lifting, if you can afford it.

You won’t be able to properly run Rhino via Parallels though, you must install Windows via Bootcamp.

For that, the 512 GB SSD might feel a bit tight (to have both macOS and Win10 side by side), but again, it’s dependant on you.

Thanks for your quick reply. It was very helpful.
