Vibration simulation?

Hey guys, im experimenting on a new speaker design… i have the following question:

i want to create a plane (prototype would be 0,5 mm PET) in grasshopper that funktions as the membrane of a speaker. Therefore the middle part of the plane must be able to vibrate. This can only be possible if the rest of the plane is formed in a way that makes the middle part flexible… (A compliant mechanism in way). The whole plain should be one part and one material though.

Are there simulation add ons etc to create a plane that has maximum efficiency in vibrating the middle circle? if you have any ideas or infos please let me know

Well … some time ago I did a rather pointless collection of C#'s that read a WAV file and “translate” the derived Graph nodes into K2 spring Forces … applied to an elastic Membrane (LOL).

Yes … I know that this has only meaning(?) for someone who wants to do some - very expensive - Installation … but anyway:

Play it to the end (the other mp4 outlines the approach):

So your case is somehow “close” to that. But if you are not in the code (C#) bandwagon abandon ship.
