When printing from layouts, mostly using more then one detail-rectangle, I got randomly text blocks an hatches across the drawing. This just happens with vector output, when using raster output everything is fine.
Software versions
Rhinoceros version: 5.2 WIP (5C246w)
IronPython version: 5.1.2015.131
Language: en
OS X version: Version 10.11.1 (Build 15B42)
Interesting.
When I was testing printing from Layouts, I had problems printing to Raster PDFs when an HP DeskJet printer was selected. Vector was fine and both were fine when I chose a different printer. Here’s the FAQ I put together documenting it: http://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/mac/rasterprintshifted
Try choosing a different current printer and then se if the PDF shifting goes away or changes.
I did another test with different paper sizes, borderless and printer drivers.
Summery: It is not a shifting text problem.
When using vector output it ignores the detail view border for text objects and hatches.
The pink circles are showing the that the position of the objects are not shifted. testHPvector.pdf (17.5 KB) testHPraster.pdf (6.0 MB)
Please make a simple Rhino file that exhibits this behavior on your system.
Send it back with the specific details needed for us to repeat the problem here.
If we can, then it should be relatively easy to fix.
If we can’t repeat it with your instructions, we’ll need to dig deeper into what is special about your computer and setup.
Her we go:
Print the layout on a custom paper size by 1000x609 mm (the effect happens also on standard paper size).
I used the HP driver for the HP T120 printer.
When printing with vector output the word “vorplatz” in the pink circle is full visible.
When using raster output the word “vorplatz” is just half visible.
