what are the plans regarding VA Object styles dialogue? There’ ve been many suggestions and desires about the dialogue. Would you please publish the votes and priorities related to VA object styles dialogue?
Maybe if VA users start inspecting holistically the priorities and votes and the roadmap, for each function, maybe they’ll be able to provide info, conclusions and further tips on the subject. I strongly recommend this.
A personal desire would be a total refactoring procedure on the dialogue. Revit’s way, is the way to go. Better preview, centerlines, exteriorlines setup, material settings from material library etc.
Before stepping up there, at least some functions need to be implemented. For example:
search from layer tree:
when trying to map numerous object styles to the attributes of layers, searching for them is a total waste of time. Matching through layer name or searching from the database, would be a basic improvement
inconsistency: coating is avalable in columns but not in beams
structural walls as a separate wall type than the architectural ones
enrichment of core - normal type, to enrich wall intersection calculations taking in the structure, substrate, thermal-air, finish-ext, finish-int functions
refactor wall-layer function to have the above instead of finish - decoration differentiation: question :: which is the actual current role of the function?
the printcolors by layers as mentioned in other thread
Hi @GabrielB We have an internal issue tracker tool where we add the bugs, features or improvement requests reported by our users. We also add there the votes of each one of you that asks for a feature that is already in the list. This issue tracker is not public (we may eventually make it public someday, but not it’s not planned so far). It helps us to stablish the development priorities based on the number of votes. But there are other factors, like the complexity of a request, the time and resources to implement it, etc…
We are planning to publish a roadmap page one of these days where you will be able to see the the features we would like to implement (most of them based on the user votes).
The more feedback we receive for improving the software, the more chances to push a feature up in our list of priorities. So thanks for your suggestions!
Can you elaborate this further?
When you open the Material /Layer drop-down, you can type the first letter of item to search, and the list will select the first item with that letter in the list. We may add a search tool anyway to help find a desired layer or material.

This is managed by VisualARQ by the “Load Bearing” property (also available in columns and beams). This property is only available by object.
