V8 UI BUG: The list of layers is leaving the screen

The list of the layers in the Object preferences is leaving the screen, when there is a lot of layers (basicly any of my bigger project). In V5 there was an arrow for expansion and the layer selection menu looked much better. @Gijs, could you please look at it?

RH-83378 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 14

Visually it’s still quite a regression compared to V5, but at least it is functional now, thank you. I especially hate the way how the menu don’t respect the position of the cursor and current layer of the object. It’s a bit confusing, if you have a lot of layers. Maybe it can be fixed in the future?

Hi @brian , it doesn’t work. It’s impossible to scroll through the menu. Please see the attached video:

@morris I tested on a fairly large file, and don’t see that behavior you are getting. Can you send me your _SystemInfo, and if possible the file (no need for geometry I guess, just the layer structure)

Hi @Gijs, here is the Systeminfo and the file with layers without geometry (there is just a box to select and test the behavior)

Hi Morris -

I was able to reproduce the issue when running on macOS 12.
→ RH-84855 Properties: Can’t Scroll Layer List

From the Apple website, it looks like your machine is compatible with macOS 15. Is there something specific holding you back?

Updating OS isn’t an option for me. I need to run legacy software, like Rhino V5, which I’m stlil using for half of my projects. It’s way more stable and predictable…
