Utilization of Elements Component

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a gridshell model in Karamba3D and trying to obtain the utilization of the beams at each node. However, I have some questions regarding the Utilization of Elements component.

Specifically, I’m trying to understand how the outputs marked in red (Util-N, Util-Vy, etc.) are calculated.

I’ve already read the component’s documentation, but it wasn’t very helpful.

Does anyone know how these values are computed?

Hi Ismael,
As of Karamba3D version 3.1.50730, the values are calculated based on Eurocode 3 (EC3). You can find more information, including the relevant source code and formulas, in this post.
