Hey everyone,
I’m trying to find a quick way to map brick patterns onto facades so that when I lasercut, it is easy to get the geometry mapped quickly for use as a scored texture.
What I am encountering is that when I do a gabled roof facade, a non-rectangular shape, the stag quad panel tool from Lunchbox, extends past the gable since it seems it maps onto rectangular surfaces in its pure form. My question is, how do I create bounds. Say I have a triangular plane, the grasshopper stag quad panel will superimpose the quad panels onto a rectangle that covers the area of the triangle. But what if I want to only map onto the triangle.
How would I do this? Also is there a way to measure how big each brick unit is. When I swap from different planes I copy and past the stag quad panel asset I have and then reconfigure it based on my eye. But the bricks don’t line up on each side of the building and may be slightly different sizes. Any ideas on how to streamline brick texture placement on faces of buildings so that they align and are confined to a certain area if the facade or wall is irregularly shaped?
Thank you in advance, and I hope you can help!
