I am currently experimenting with a script to gain contours for laser cutting, the script is not providing an array of polylines, which can be plotted for laser cutting.

Here something, I hope it is better.
The mesh was far from the origin which is not good for mesh in Rhino as they are often coded by float (and now also in double which is better).
But some curves are still not closed, you better have to model the shape with surfaces/brep. It will give a better result.
