I’m sorry to report but Untrim command is very unreliable. Either doesn’t do anything or deletes some random surfaces instead of an entire segment. It only happens on complex models, which, in fact, is even more frustrating…
Windows 7, 64 bit Rhino with the latest update.
Hi Adam- can you please post an example?
thanks,
-Pascal
Hi Pascal,
I chopped up my model into smaller pieces and posted one for you. Try Untrim on the edges pointed by arrows. Than, please look at the bottom and find 1946. Untrim works on this surface as it should. Very strange…
Sorry, here is the file… http://we.tl/22ORsHeEP4
Hi Adam- Untrim seems OK, but the objects are not ‘released’ from the overall polysurface-I need to dig into that more, but for now, ExtractSrf the plane that the two objects are trimmed into. I don’t know what you mean about 1946…

Hi Pascal,
1946 is incised number at the bottom of the model I posted. You should see it even when in wireframe. When I use untrim to zap it, the command works as intended.
OK, thanks - I’ve narrowed it down to a relatively few surfaces, I’ll send it on to the developer for a look.
