Trim with regions ... why trim all the way up?

Hi all,

I try to trim a set of curves by using trim with regions, and the set has a duplicate right above it.
The region curves lay on lower level, but it trim all the way up to those curve above like a shaft.

Any help would be appreciated.

That’s weird. Looks like you have no choice but to separate the lower curves from the upper ones.
