I need to apply a transparent .PNG Decal to a extrusion in Rhino and render the extrusion as a “transparent mylar/plastic card cover” see attached .jpg
Problem is the .PNG is barley visible as a decal on the transparent extrusion and I cannot find what settings/where the settings are to make it appear properly.
Instead of using a decal you should use it via a material.
Create a Physically based material and set your image as texture in the base color slot. Then you can play with the opacity and alpha settings to get the transparency you want.
To ensure you can place the texture correctly add a planar mapping to the object to which you apply the material with the texture.
Is there a video you can recommend as I am not that familiar with the things you mentioned.
