Transform and maintain certain parameter

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to transform an object within Rhino and maintaining a certain parameter of this object? For example: Scale1D a planar Curve and maintain its area by automatically scaling it in the other dimension.

Or is this something that has to be done with Grasshopper?
