Total size of the geometry

Hi.

We are encountering an issue when uploading a model to ShapeDiver. We’ve spent several days reducing and compressing the meshes to ensure all are under 15,000 polygons (as we read that this should resolve issues related to the 20MB geometry output size limit). However, we keep receiving the following error:

Error

The total size of the geometry which your model attempts to display exceeds the limit supported by your account.

Model uuid: 9e07faa9-a69d-4ce6-b77f-2dfbf88ad084
Model guid: fba31c14-e28f-40e7-b91d-a24e076c2dc0

Step_Thru_eBike_v8.gh (11.3 MB)

We have read the documentation up and down, but can’t seem to figure it out…

Any ideas on how to pinpoint exactly where the problem is?

Thank you
Markus

Here are some hints to further reduce the size of your definition’s outputs:

  1. Turn the preview off for all components in the definition except display components. I noticed several components with the preview turned on:

Those meshes are then added to the outputs. This is also true for points and lines (I saw many of those with the preview turned on).

  1. Investigate why some of the meshes you are trying to display are invalid, and do not display them using the “Custom Preview” component:

  2. Make use of the Tolerance Settings in your definition. Otherwise, the servers might be working on different tolerance settings, which can in particular lead to very different mesh sizes depending on how you handle the meshing of your geometry.

Let me know if these points help.
