hi @smartrobert pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results. It would be also helpful if you could share a short video capture of your screen. I’ve seen more reports of tooltips not working, but so far I could not reproduce that on my end.
Same in here, no tooltips.
Then I wanted to record the effect, and before starting the recorder the tooltips are magically there.
Observation:
Start Rhino, and don’t place the mouse over the splash screen.
Wait until the splash screen vanished.
Rhino doesn’t have the focus - so no tooltip.
Not sure, but perhaps that is part of the reason?
I don’t see that here either
I think this is the same issue as mine:
Hi @Gijs de Zwart,
in Rhino 8 you´ve to open an existing Project, so you´ll see the Probelm with the Tooltips.

My experience is that clicking on any other window and then going back to Rhino will make the issue go away (which makes it impossible to do a screen record, but maybe I’ll take a vid with my phone). Here is my system info, in case that helps narrow something down:

Thanks all, I could now reproduce it reliably:
RH-81647 Tooltips don’t show up after starting Rhino
404 fixed
The tooltips still don’t work properly. They can be launched by pressing the Windows key, but that’s not the way to use Rhino.
Btw, I don’t have this problem anymore.
