They say that there two hard things in software development:
- Cache invalidation
- Naming things
- Off by 1 errors
Ok that’s a super nerd level joke but naming things is hard.
When we where looking for a name for our kite design software ‘Karoro’ came to the fore thanks to a close relationship to our past kiting.
Karoro is the NZ Maori name for what is also known as the Black Back Seagull. A tough strong bird with an excellent flying style.
Karoro Road (aka K road to the locals) is a west wind kite spot in my home town of Ruakaka, NZ. An excellent teaching and learning spot thanks to it’s km’s of waist deep water. @sukconz and I would have taught hundreds of new riders at this location over the years we had a kite school here.
We were lucky enough to grab a session at this spot this afternoon with Clayton, one of the current locals.
