The display order of windows in macOS

Hi, there is still a lot of issues regarding display order of windows in macOS. For example, floating windows and containers stay in the front no matter what. If I have any floating window open I can’t save my file because the floating window is blocking even the OS-native save dialog! I feel that there is something so fundamentally wrong with how Rhino windows work in macOS that I can’t be the only one who thinks so? Anyone else having issues with this?

In February I posted this similar issue regarding to floating panels, but I think this is a bigger issue in general:

yes it is. something is happening. i have also issues with when opening a new file with the short cut cmd n and the new window gets hidden behind the already running window but focus is already there not even letting me to switch windows with cmd < but i have to press the shortcut twice to get the window to the front.

i reported that issue but strangely nobody could reproduce it.

I can definitely reproduce this and have also noticed it myself. This is one of the good examples of window issues in Rhino for Mac.

However, regarding the floating panels in Rhino, they behave exactly the same as macOS native floating panels like Colors or Fonts. So at least the floating Panels and Containers work as expected, or at least it’s not a Rhino-specific problem. I already marked my other thread as solved.

well the developer answering in this topic did no manage so i wonder either what he or we do differently. which os are you using?

I’m on latest Sonoma 14.5 but it doesn’t matter. I think the culprit is the tooltip thingy that is displayed in the bottom left, when you don’t have command history on / visible. I posted this in your thread.
