I applied a texture to a mesh object using UV mapping. After using the Squish command to flatten the mesh, the texture appeared correctly at this stage. However, if I save and then reopen the file, or if I edit the UV texture axes afterwards, the texture on the mesh object becomes incorrect and cannot be restored. The only solution is to reapply the texture.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Map an image to a surface using UV texture axes.
- Convert the surface to a mesh object.
- Use Squish to flatten the mesh object
at this point, the flattened image should be correct
but afer:
A. Save the file and then reopen it.
B. Use the UV editor to edit.
After these steps, the object fails to display the texture correctly.
