TestMetal fails to display mesh edges correctly

Here is a mesh, which TestMetal fails to display correctly:

meshMetal.3dm (2.1 MB)

not to speak about the whole model…

actually looks kind of artistic

sure thing!

can you share me the link, where I can upload models directly to McNeel? I have another file (block with breps), that fails to display correctly with TestMetal, but I am not sure if I am allowed to share it publicly…

https://www.rhino3d.com/upload

thanks, uploaded it

Thanks, I’ve added the file as a non-public attachment to the YT item above.

sent two more files your way
… hope there are helpful at this stage of development!

@pascal, @stevebaer, shall I keep sending example files, as I find them? Are they helpful at the current stage of development?

Cheers

Sure, samples are always appreciated. Are you testing with the SR9 release candidate that was released a few hours ago?

Alright good to know!

No, I still have to manually download the newest release from the Rhino website, as my RH8 is behaving somehow strange… (RH7 is updating fine)

Sorry, that was a dumb question on my part as all of the metal development is V8 only.

There you go! :building_construction:

brepMetalDisplay.3dm (420.4 KB)

As far as I can remember, this one was working fine in Metal before yesterdays new update to RH8

another one:

metalFail.3dm (1.3 MB)

@rudolf.neumerkel are you still seeing this bad wire drawing for polysurface edges in Rhino 8 with metal enabled? I’ve done some work in this area in the last couple months and don’t see the stray wires anymore
