Tekla Live Link - Grasshopper: Construct a Glass Dome

Dear all,
I’m making a glass dome as following method:

I can make it in grasshopper and link to tekla as reference items.

However, I need them to be beam elements (can modify in Tekla) so I used this method

but the result is not what I want, all steel profiles not rotate toward to the dome center.
Here is the grid I internalized objects include the brep of the result I need.
Questions:

  1. How to construct this type of shape using Tekla Link
  2. Later, how to auto trim all members as welded connection.
Many thanks for your helps in advance.

Hi,

Have a look at this thread.

It’s (still !!!) not possible to insert native welds with Tekla Live Link, but you can define a custom component in Tekla that does cuts and weldings and insert this with Grasshopper. You’ll need to associate all beams for each node, in clockwise or anticlockwise order.

You need to move the beams down to based on the degree
glass seating wont have much issue then (if the glass directly seat on the hollow section

M Glad the video help you to solve your issues
