Synchronize Render Colors not working

Hello Rhino community,
I recently dug up an old project of mine and decided to do some renders. However, I realized that when I do the traditional “change layer display color and then SynchronizeRenderColors” for changing materials in the render engine (D5 fyi), the result is that most layers does not get applied the color and in D5 I only see two different colors (as you can see in the image only one layer got a new material color when the rest of the model layers clearly has different colors)

I noticed that when I SynchronizeRenderColor, the bar only indicates objects being synchronized instead of all the layers I’ve created which hasn’t happened in other projects.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Ethan -

When I run SynchronizeRenderColor here, I always get a “x layers synchronized” message on the command line, never a “x objects synchronized” as in your image.
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.

Dear Wim,
Thank you for the response and great catch, I’ve not noticed the object sync. situation for any of my other projects.

Here’s the requested info:

Thanks again for the response!

Also a small update on the situation, when I clicked on “all layers” in “SynchronizeRenderColors”, it did apply the layer color to the material but the new property still doesn’t register in the render engine.

I’ve created new files and visited other projects and tried SynchronizeRenderColors and they work fine (layers synchronized and not object as seen in the image), and they work fine in the render engine.

It most likely is something I’ve fiddled with for this particular project or something wrong with the integrity of the objects.
