in my Rhino 6 version the control points are switched on as standard (when I select objects)
As I normally want to move objects without changing them, I need a standard set up without
control points. How can I do this?

Hi @sulloon - When you say objects, I suppose you’re referring mainly to curve objects? In that case, you need to uncheck the highllighted setting in the attached screenshot (Options / Mouse page). You should of course be able to drag curves without changing them even if ctrl pts are on. It can happen that you hit a ctrl pt as you select and drag.
