Can someone explain what exactly the Surface Dimensions (Dim) component is actually measuring relative to the referenced geometry (or any geometry)?
The surface is untrimmed and not reparametrized. the values in the image to not correspond to any values that I can extract from any part of this surface and many others (all untrimmed)
Use case for context: I’m evaluating large numbers of surface based on different characteristics and sorting based on some combination of these values. I don’t really care about the exact dimension values for this purpose; I am more concerned with how these values compare to one another in the list of items I’m evaluating.
I know this component measures untrimmed data but even then I find that these values sometimes deviate from the actual geometry even when measuring rectilinear surface with equal lengths on opposing sides.
I’ve seen one or two post similar to this topic but haven’t seen an explanation of what it is measuring.
