Stair inconsistent geometry when minimum widths applied

Hello,

when applying minimum widths such as width 0.80 and 1.60 of total stair width, and 0 in the radius, the vertical parts of are not created. Tested in 3.8 and 3.9. I’ve sent the .3dm by e-mail. This has happened before in other projects too.

Hi @GabrielB this problem may occur because the two stair flights are overlapping. I’ve checked your file, and apparently, the two flights are coincident, so the stair should be generated properly.
However, as soon as I move one flight (through the corresponding control points) 1mm a bit further, the problem resolves:

Balanced stair

Hey @fsalla . Thanks for the reply. But we should be able to draw such a stair with 0.80 width flights and a total width 1.60 not 1.601, right? I mean, such a stair should be able to be created. Don’t you consider this as a bug? But on the contrary as a non proper stair-geometry? I am not fan of increasing the width by 1mm even though as you mention solves the problem. Because afterwards I will have problems with wrong snapping.

Yes, I agree. I already reported this case to the developmen team.

Ok perfect. Thanks.

Hi any plans about fixing this bug?

Hi @GabrielB I’m not sure if this is feasible in the short-term, since it may require some major changes in the way the stair object is created, which is planned for future VisualARQ versions. The fastest way to workaround this issue right now is to move slightly the control points of the stair as I showed before.
