Sort Ascending

Hello,

I don’t have a lot of experience with Grasshopper and am having an issue that I cannot solve.

I thought that the Sort List component always sorted the values ascending.
However, I am creating a simple definition that Duplicates the border of a surface, rebuilds that curve and then creates two offset curves to the outside.

My challenge was that the offset curves didn’t always went to the outside of the surface, so a friend recommended that created the two offset curves, both sides inside/outside, and then select the one with the longest perimeter, that would be the outer one.

So far so good. I managed to do this for the example I was using…

The problem is that the file has two surfaces, it’s for shoes a so it has right foot and left foot, and when I use the same definition on both surfaces, the sorting is reversed…

For one surface, the sorting is ascending, for the other is descending…

Can anyone help me with this?? Please? It’s driving me crazy and I can’t find a way to make sure that I select the biggest value…

Thanks!

This is the typical way to choose the outward offset curve as you described in your description regardless of different curve directions…
