"Sliding" a curve control point

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there was a way to “slide” a control point of a curve (and that it keepts its trajectory if you see what i mean). A bit like the slide command for Subd. Equally, is there a secret way to do it with the gumball ? ( without repositionning it manually I mean)

thanks !

Here is the gumball set it object mode. As you can see it does not align with my control points which is not great

Maybe MoveUVN>Along control polygon…?

you can also select the point and use move, with snaps point enabled just target the cp you want to move towards and hit tab, then move along that direction.

drag mode> control polygon.

this slides the points down the control polygon line between two points.

super useful for editing stuff where maintaining existing continuity is important.

Thank you very much for the replies. I’ll try the drag mode, it seems a bit more userfriendly than the Move UVN . Thanks a million!

There are some good things in the drag modes… play with all of them.

I use “view” quite a bit with subd, it’s lovely for making very subtle edits in a specific view angle.

I use it to adjust highlights in rendered mode on car body sides quite a bit.

Would you be able to explain this further with an image or two ? I am super interested since I am quite a lot into subD these days… that would be amazing.

Kindly

hit the help in Rhino, there is a detailed write up on how they work-

In Rhino, hit f1, and search for drag modes.
