I downloaded a shapefile (https://data.cityofnewyork.us/City-Government/Sidewalk/vfx9-tbb6) and tried to add it with meerkat but the shapefile shows up as a line. How do I fix this?
Hey Gsechang, I recently found a fix for this issue. According to Nathan Lowe, the creator of MeerkatGIS, this is a result of an inappropriate projection system being used for the geographical area in question. I found out the best way is to re-project your shapefile through GIS to a more regional projection system to New York City. My issue was that road .shp was not showing up for Toronto (the native projection the file came in was WGS84). But when I re-projected the road .shp to a projection closer to Toronto’s geographic area (NAD83 UTM 17n) my issue was fixed. I hope this helps!
