Shape Diver Isopod Support

What are the chances we can get Isopod by Daniel Piker supported in Shape Diver? Link below:

We have a project that would greatly benefit from supporting this tool.

Thanks Alex, Yes I’d be happy for this to become available on ShapeDiver, but I think in its current form it would probably be tricky because the fields here are currently all editable C# objects - nice for learning and hackability, but I guess problematic for cloud based. I’m now starting to think though that it may be better to shift to something more like the approach I took with Kangaroo Goals - a set of standard fields as compiled components (with the source still viewable online somewher…

Many thanks for your feedback, we will review and give it a try to get it deployed. Scripted objects are fine to be run on ShapeDiver, the script pass through a reviewing process right after model upload.

Checking back in. Do you guys have a timeline on supporting Isopod? We are timing a product release and it would be helpful for planning. Appreciate the help!

Isopod problem in Rhino 9 WIP

@martinsiegrist I think you might be running Rhino 9 WIP in .NET Framework (4.8) mode, and Isopod is only compiled for .NET 7. If you use SetDotNetRuntime, you should be able to switch it back to .NET Core mode which should get this working again. If you’ve modified your shortcut to add /netfx as an argument you’ll have to remove that. It might be worth it to get Isopod multi-targeted so it can run in either framework.

Ahhh, many thanks @DanielPiker! That explains it. Do you see a chance to get Isopod compiled using .NET Framework as well? On our systems we still use .NET Framework mode due to some older plugins.

As it turns out, Isopod currently requires Rhino 8 to run using .NET Core.

Our existing shared Rhino 8 systems are running using .NET Framework, because of some older plugins.

Potential solutions to make Isopod work for you on ShapeDiver:

1. It might be that @DanielPiker can make Isopod work with .NET Framework. In this case we can install it on our existing shared Rhino 8 systems.
2. You upgrade to an Enterprise account, which would give you a new Rhino 8 system that can be configured to use .NET Core. Some older plugins might not work.
3. You wait until we roll out a further shared Rhino 8 system that runs using .NET Core.
