Run Simulation only on Terrain?

Hi

I want to run a wind simulation only on terrain without buildings, is this possible with Eddy?

Should I leave Geo input empty and just use terrain?

I tried with the example file but the results look strange, I would like to see how the different mountains of a terrain block and affect wind. In this case the mountains don’t seem to be blocking the wind.

Thanks!

Any ideas guys? I feel like I’ve hit a wall. Thanks!

You can do that. Keep the inputs for both Buildings and Terrain. Make sure to probe with a constant offset from your domain. Currently, you are probing on a flat plane, which is why your results look the way they do.

Hi Eddy3D Team, thank you for the reply. Just to clarify do you mean the current set up is correct? Same geometry goes into Geo and Terrain inputs?

What do you mean by this? Thanks!

You have to probe a certain distance away from your terrain (the new ground plane). Move all probing points up by a particular amount.
